French Toast Bake

In our house - which also happens to be Kiteke.ca headquarters - Easter weekend is often the perfect time to press pause and take stock of our good fortunes.
Spring arrives and new ideas arrive with it. The blooms are finally out and everything feels new.
This year, we had multiple showings and client meetings all weekend. We're deep into a busy spring season with this ever-growing market, and so we wanted to find some easy ways to relax when we had a moment.

Recipe creating is always a fun opportunity for our team to catch up and mingle over good food.
Not only that, but some seriously tasty treats get eaten!
This French Toast Bake might just be the easiest recipe we've ever made.
It certainly looks more complex than it is.
We got the idea from a great food blog we follow called Smitten Kitchen - based in New York.
We just couldn't pass up the idea of boozy french toast. It sounded too good to be true.
So we quickly got to work at selecting our alcohol flavours - because you know, that's the most important job!
This recipe happens to be absolutely perfect for a busy family occasion or holiday.
We decided to share it just after Easter so you have ample time to consider it for your next family get-together. It needs to be prepared the night before you enjoy it. Just a little something to keep in mind.
It's seriously so simple and delicious, though.
Just a few wholesome ingredients thrown into a pan and voila!
For this particular boozy bake, we decided to use spiced rum and Bailey's - but you can use a custom mixture of several different kinds of liquor to get your own special desired taste.
We just couldn't resist the idea of Bailey's for breakfast. It's almost too good to be true!
This recipe would be perfect for Mother's Day Brunch.
It's also a great excuse to break out the Bailey's after the holiday season.
Ad your favourite pure maple syrup and the flavours mingle perfectly together. It's like a party in your mouth!
In the end, we also added fresh strawberries and whipped cream. It was like the super-bowl of treats and a huge hit around the morning brunch table.
We just couldn't get over how incredibly clever this recipe was. Seriously. You'll be shocked at how little effort is involved.

1 Loaf Of Bread
3 Cups Of Milk
3 Tablespoons Of Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon Of Salt
Prepare your French Toast Bake the night before you bake it. This will allow the flavours to soak and settle overnight. Preheat oven at 425 degrees to bake.
Cut your loaf of bread - or use sliced bread - into thick squares and layer into a generously-greased pan. Combine the remaining ingredients - milk, eggs, sugar, salt and your choice alcohol - into a bowl and once they are well combined, pour them over the bread.
Sprinkle cinnomon over entire mixture.
Bake for 30 minutes.
The best part about this recipe is that it's so flexible.
You can make it gluten-free by using gluten-free bread. You can use almond mylk instead of regular milk to up the health factor. You can even use whole milk if you're craving the added ingulgence.
